Sad news to pass along this week.

Grammy Award winning Reggae artist and actor Louie Rankin has died according to TMZ. He was killed in a car accident in Canada where he was reportedly shooting a movie.

Rankin (born Leonard Ford) is most widely known for his role as Jamaican drug lord "Lennox" aka "Ox" in the movie "Belly" and for his role in the movie "Shottas" as "Teddy Bruckshot". But Rankin was also widely known as an award winning reggae dancehall artist that called himself "The Original Don Dada"

His 1992 album "Showdown" produced several hits including "Typewriter" which won him a Grammy Award.

Rankin's age was unknown but he was believed to have been in his mid-50's at the time of his untimely passing.
