Report of Kidnapping Leads to Drug Bust in Lampasas
KWTX reports 911 calls to police on Tuesday reported a man grabbed a girl and forced her into his pick up truck not far from Lampasas Middle School. When officers followed up on the matter then ended up busting 2 individuals for drug possession.
Two different calls to 911 told police about two men in a pickup truck chased a girl and forced her into their vehicle. Witnesses said she appeared to be 13 or 14 years of age.
The police found the truck in a McDonald's restaurant a couple of blocks away from the scene of the 911 calls. When they questioned the individuals the 2 men said they had nothing to do with the report. The officers decided to search the truck and found methamphetamine in the vehicle and on one of the individuals.
Jesse Joe Garcia (28) and Israel Alvarez (31) were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Alvarez tried to swallow the meth before cops discovered it so he has also been charged with tampering with evidence.
