Sad news from the world of blues and R&B as legendary singer Denise Lasalle has died at the age of 78.

According to The Jackson Sun, Lasalle had been suffering from various health problems recently including congestive heart failure and she had her right leg amputated in 2017. Lasalle was most widely known for hit songs "Trapped By A Thing Called Love", "Now Run And Tell That" and "My Toot Toot". She’d planned to open the Denise LaSalle Blues Academy of Performing Arts in Jackson and was still working to achieve that at the time of her passing.

We send our condolences to her family, friends and fans.
