A Killeen man has reportedly confessed to shooting his wife in the chest, then hiding his firearms before police arrived at the crime scene.

Brandon Hamilton with our news partner, KWTX, reports that Timothy Francis Decaille allegedly shot his wife, Dominique Hughes, in the chest during an argument at their home in Killeen Sunday. Police say Decaille admitted to the shooting, as well as to hiding his weapons before emergency responders arrived. Those weapons were later seized as evidence.

Hughes was taken to a local hospital. Her condition has not been made public.

Decaille, 30, remained in the Bell County Jail Wednesday. Records indicate he was booked Monday at 6:02 PM and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon - a second degree felony. His bond was set at $100,000.
