An exit citizens of and visitors to Troy have used for decades will close permanently Thursday night, and a new exit will be installed south of town.

Jodi Wheatley with TxDOT issued an advisory Thursday afternoon about the closure of Exit 308, as well as the closure of a single lane of northbound I-35 in order to direct traffic on to new pavement.

Wheatley said drivers headed to Troy will need to exit at Exit 306 (FM 1237/Pendleton Rd) and remain on the access road in order to enter town.

The new Main St/FM 935 exit will be located 1.5 miles south of Troy. Wheatley said drivers used to exiting near Bell St will need to be prepared to spot the new exit sooner than they're used to.
