Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Crowns a New Champion

It is so hard for me to watch this without barfing.  You know they all did, and then swallowed it! 

Okay enough disgusting talk. Why anybody wants to do this is beyond me.  But Joey "Jaws" Chestnut has done it a lot and he has won a lot. Eight times in a row. Last year he downed 61 hot dogs to win. In 2013, He ate 69, a record setter!

But that was before, this year a new kid came to Coney Island, his name is Matt "The Megaload" Stonie and he was fearless!

It's pretty funny how the announcers make this sound all sports like. Joey started off strong, but then it was back and forth between the two.  Somewhere around hot dog number 22, Stonie took the lead and kept it. Joey was always close behind though. But in the end, Matt Stonie won 62 dogs to 60.

Let's not forget the ladies.  Yep, we do have some ladies with stretchable stomachs.  The winner for the second year in a row is Miko Sudo.  She ate 38 hot dogs in ten minutes.

Congratulations!  Do you find it weird that skinny people always win these things?  I sure do.
