Mariah Carey kicked off the 'Today' show's summer concert series in a big way Friday morning (May 16). The diva took over Rockefeller Plaza in New York and debuted a new song 'You Don't Know What to Do' with rapper Wale.

Rocking a black, embellished gown, Mariah also performed previous hits like 'Touch My Body' and 'Always Be My Baby' as part of the set. “I love you New York City!” said Mimi to her hometown crowd.

The R&B superstar is prepping her forthcoming album 'Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, which is due out in stores on May 27. NBC will release a primetime special around the effort, hosted by Matt Lauer, called 'Me. I Am Mariah,” airing May 31 at 8PM ET. The program will give an inside look into Carey's marriage with hubby Nick Cannon and their domestic life.

"It truly is a family," says Cannon in a clip. "It doesn't matter what goes on outside of our household. As long as everything inside is tight and we enjoy it and embrace that union, and that foundation that we've built."
