Last week, two people were shot and one was killed at a popular after-hours nightclub in Harker Heights. Police reported this week that the suspect was captured in Austin.

According to KDH News Cleve Dantron Marcel Franklin was arrested in Austin Wednesday thanks to numerous tips from the Harker Heights community, the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, and the Austin Police Department.

Records indicate he was booked into the Bell County Jail Wednesday at 1:41 PM and charged with first degree felony murder. His bond was set at $1 million.

Harker Heights police have thanked those who helped, and say their investigation of the shooting continues.

The shooting happened Sunday, March 15 at Club Krush at 201 W. Veterans Memorial Blvd. around 3:25 AM.

Michael Anthony Hackney was pronounced dead after being lifted to Scott and White Hospital.

The suspect, later identified as Franklin,  left the scene after the shooting occurred in a black or gray Dodge Charger. Again, police say information submitted by the public helped officers locate him and take him into custody.
