Halloween may look a little different this year because of the pandemic, but it doesn't mean you have to cancel it altogether.

Lots of events have been cancelled, but Lowe's has announced it will host two drive-thru, curbside trick-or-treat events the week of Halloween. These will happen at all Lowe's location throughout Central Texas on October 22 and 29 from 6-7p.

You'll have to do a little work in advance though, as you'll need to register your spot and sign up on the Lowe's DIY website. Lowe's said sign-ups begin this Saturday.

According to the press release, Joe McFarland, Lowe's executive vice president of stores, said, "We know that customers still want to celebrate Halloween, even if the holiday may look different for us this year. While the pandemic has changed many elements of everyday life, the tradition of trick-or-treating doesn't have to be one of them. Our associates take great pride in serving our communities, and as we all find new ways to safely celebrate the holiday, we look forward to welcoming families to our drive-through curbside trick-or-treating events this year."

You are encouraged to dress up, but it's not mandatory and families who participate will receive free candy and a small pumpkin.

So it's a little different this year, but so are a lot of things in 2020. However you choose to celebrate, try to keep safety top of mind like you do every year.
