A local animal rescue in Temple is preparing to deliver supplies to Louisiana.

Tiny Hooves Rescue and Petting Zoo is stepping up to help areas in Louisiana hit hard by Hurricane Ida. As the rescue prepares to pack their trailer with supplies they are asking for the community help to make it a success.

This isn't the first time that Tiny Hooves Rescue and Petting Zoo has gone on a mission to help animals caught up in a hurricane. In 2017, founder, Shelby Michalewicz, rescued several animals after Hurricane Harvey. During the trip, they rescued a dog later named 'Forest' who became the staple of the rescue. Unfortunately, Forest died a few weeks ago but he's the force behind this rescue.

With plans to leave Wednesday morning, Tiny Hooves Rescue and Petting Zoo is working with PetSmart and Petco in Temple, which will be collecting donations of pet food and supplies as well as they're taking monetary donations from the community.

Here's wishing Tiny Hooves Rescue and Petting Zoo a safe trip!
