This 4th of July Holiday, local law enforcement agencies in Waco are hoping to crack down on violations of city ordinances that involve fireworks and unnecessary discharges of a firearm.

The Waco Trib reports that there will be additional first- responders scheduled this holiday, in order to address the large volume of calls that are expected.

Being an Texan definitely has its advantages, but with the good comes the bad. One of the hardest things to accept is that most cities have a ban on fireworks within the city limit.

Safety is a priority for the Local Law Enforcement agencies, and while we've experienced numerous instances of rain this summer, that doesn't mean that a fire can't break loose.

If you break the city ordinance banning fireworks, you could face up to a $2000 fine, and the penalty for the unnecessary discharge of a firearm can result in your arrest.

Everyone knows, what goes up, must come down. Please remember to practice fire and gun safety this holiday, and have a happy 4th of July!
