Students attending any Killeen Independent School District (KISD) school will receive free breakfast during the 2025–2026 school year, according to the district.

KISD Schools to Provide Free Breakfast & Lunch for All Students

There had been discussions and concerns that students might not receive free meals this year, leaving some parents worried about the possibility. However, KISD has confirmed that all schools in the district will offer free breakfast, and 38 schools will also provide free lunch.

Steve Smith, Executive Director of School Nutrition for KISD, stated, “We know students can’t focus on learning when they’re worried about being hungry.” He added, “Thanks to this program, we can make sure every child has access to nutritious meals without families needing to fill out paperwork or worry about cost. It’s a win for our students, our families, and our schools.”

The following schools will offer free meals during the 2025–2026 school year:
