Killeen police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Bonnie Drive late Friday night.

Officers responded to a 911 call about shots fired in the 1300 block of Bonnie at 11:11 PM. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:24 AM.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cookie ordered the man’s remains be sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy.

Police are withholding the man’s name pending notification of next of kin. As of Saturday, they had not announced that the incident was being investigated as a murder.

Crime Stoppers will not ask for your name, and information leading to arrest could net a cash reward of up to $1,000.
