Congratulations (And a Nice Payday) to Killeen, Texas’ Newly Crowned Makeup Artist Champion

We have thousands of makeup artists in Killeen, Texas who take great pride in their work - so much they don’t even refer to it as work, but rather as art. A few of them got to show off their skills at the Third Annual Battle of the Makeup Artists on June 11, and I felt congratulations were in order.

A lot of times these artists go unnoticed, but let’s be honest - some of us can barely draw stick figures, let alone make a whole beautiful canvas on someone’s face.

These ladies were prepared for battle. CriShandle Sims Hines, owner and operator of Bougie Girl Beauty Bar, truly outdid herself this year by organizing the event and choosing this year's theme - zodiac signs. This year's winner received a $1000 check. Like any battle, everyone tried their hardest, but only one could emerge victorious.

Ciani Kingwood took home the thousand-dollar check, bragging rights, and reputation as this year‘s best makeup artist. The skills of this young lady are absolutely ridiculous. What she can do with makeup is nothing short of a phenomenal.

Ciani  work has been showcased all over Central Texas, and to be completely honest she is one of the few makeup artist that I allowed to touch my face. Ciani is a young star on the rise, and her future is looking bright. I think it’s really important that young ladies and young men watch her very carefully, because she is the perfect example of hard work and practice paying off. She is writing checks that her skills can cash - literally!
