The Killeen Police Department's Ofelia Miramontez reports that the suspect, 30-year-old Syrknoreon Dewuntrel Pilgram, was charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the case was taken to the Bell County District Attorney's Office Sunday.

Police were called to the 900 block of York Avenue in Killeen at 9:32 PM Saturday, January 30. When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Asher Levi Kitchens dead with gunshot wounds. Two other men - a 41 -year-old and a 42-year-old - were transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with gunshot wounds. They were reportedly in stable condition.

According to investigators, their preliminary investigation revealed that Kitchens and the other two victims were at a home in the 600 block of Murphy Street when Pilgram arrived and started a disturbance, during which shots were fired.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced Kitchen dead around 10:59 PM that night, and police initially withheld the victim's name pending notification of next of kin.

Police say the shooting was an isolated incident.
