Police have released the names of a man who fatally shot his wife inside a Valero convenience store Saturday before turning the gun on himself.

According to KPD spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez, the victim was 27-year-old Samaka Racheal Powell. The gunman has been identified as her husband, 31-year-old Raymond Deshawn Davis.

Police were called to the store earlier in the day after Powell and Davis were involved in a domestic dispute, but by the time officers arrived, Davis was gone. He later returned and the two got into an argument, during which Davis shot Powell, then himself.

It was initially reported that the two were exes, but Miramontez clarified Monday that the pair were husband and wife.

The shooting remained under investigation Monday.
