Killeen Large Truck Parking Ordinance In Effect
The Killeen City Council has now made it illegal to park a truck with a capacity of one ton or greater within 500 feet of a residential property.
Police Chief Charles Kimble has approved the issuance of warnings for violations until June 18, after that date your vehicle will be subject to citations and or towing. The city says it made the amendment to assist in noise abatement and to improve motorist and pedestrian safety in residential areas.
Chapter 28, Article V. of the Killeen Code of Ordinances now reads, “it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle having a capacity of more than (1) ton including, but not limited to, truck tractors, within five hundred (500) feet of a property zoned or used for residential purposes. - City of Killeen
