On January 2nd, a shooting happened at a hotel in Killeen, Texas that left one individual dead. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

The Initial Details Of The Shooting At A Best Western Plus In Killeen

As reported by KCEN, the incident took place on January 2nd, 2025. Near the time of 1:18 PM, police were summoned to the hotel after multiple alerts from calls. Police made their way to hotel and the area where the shooting took place.

When they got onto the scene, they discovered one man was hit by a bullet, and another woman who was not conscious. The woman, Jazmien Rae'Lynn Hernandez, was sadly pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman at the time of 3:02 PM.

What Caused The Shooting?

As reported by KCEN, preliminary police inquiries revealed that two unidentified individuals, 34 and 32 years old, got into a dispute. The dispute then led to the shooting, which in turn harmed the man and woman found at the scene. Police also learned that the 32 year old left the scene following the incident.

Police in Killeen did report that they had arrested a suspect in the case. In addition, both of the men who were included in the shooting are in the hospital, and are considered to be in stable condition.

At the time of writing, the suspect's name has not been revealed. As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
