Who doesn't love Uncrustables? These pre-packaged, crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are popular with so many, but it turns out that they're super popular with NFL teams!
That's right, NFL players are eating a surprising amount of Uncrustables! They seem to be super popular with athletes because they’re convenient, quick to eat, and provide a good balance of carbs, protein, and fats. The carbs from the bread and jelly provide quick energy, while the peanut butter offers a bit of protein and fat to help sustain them during practices or games.
In fact, Uncrustables have become a staple in some team locker rooms and training facilities for that very reason- so much so that a new report by The Athletic shows that NFL players eat "at least 80,000 Uncrustables a year"!
