The Woodlands, Texas began as a planned bedroom community north of Houston 50 years ago to provide an excellent quality of life designed to be one with nature just outside the big city. Along the way, plans have changed just a bit, and now the small city has blossomed into one of the most desirable hometowns in the entire United States.

If you are not familiar with The Woodlands, it really does deliver on providing a one with nature experience, but the need to commute into Houston has been pretty much circumvented with the many businesses like Oxy Petroleum, Howard Hughes Holdings, and Lexicon Pharmaceuticals.

Just north of The Woodlands is the town of Conroe, and it has also seen massive growth over the past 40 years that the two towns have formed a very stable economy surrounded by beautiful scenery.
