A recent recall of Toyota vehicles has affected the state of Texas. Here's what you need to know if you own a car made by Toyota mentioned in it.

Toyota Recall Affecting The Lone Star State

As revealed by Car And Driver, the recall itself has connections with Gulf Shores Toyota, which has its roots in the Texas. Per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there is a major reason for the recall for the many vehicles:

"The weight listed on the load carrying capacity modification label may be higher or lower than the actual total weight of accessories installed. In the worst case, a driver may unknowingly overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of crash."

Due to this problem, notices have been sent out to those own the vehicles listed. The list provided by the NHTSA/Car and Driver:

- 2024 Corolla
- 2023–2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid
- 2023–2025 Crown
- 2024 4Runner
- 2023–2024 Highlander, Highlander Hybrid
- 2024 Grand Highlander, Grand Highlander Hybrid
- 2023–2024 GR Corolla
- 2024 GR86
- 2023 GR Supra
- 2024 Land Cruiser Hybrid
- 2023–2024 Prius, Prius Prime
- 2023–2024 Sequoia Hybrid
- 2024 Tacoma, Tacoma Hybrid
- 2023–2024 Tundra, Tundra Hybrid
- 2023–2024 Venza Hybrid

For individuals affected by the recall, The NHTSA revealed that "GST will also offer the replacement of this label at any Toyota dealer at no charge." The total number of vehicles impacted is 33,848.

If you have one of the vehicles affected, be aware a notice will be in your mail by September 16th, 2024. As this is developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
