
KISD Police Assist Feds In Employee Arrest For Fraud
A Killeen Independent School District employee is arrested on charges that involve Immigration Customs Enforcement.
A KISD Employee is Arrested on a Federal Felony Warrant
According to KXXV, KISD sent out a press release saying an employee was arrested Oct. 3 on a federal felony warrant related to falsifying employment paperwork. The school district said the arrest had nothing to do with student safety. KISD police assisted the federal agents with the arrest.
KISD Will Not Reveal the Name of the Employee
According to a press release, the school system said it helped the employee contact family members and gather personal items before the person was arrested. The district is claiming that it cannot release the name of the employee because they claim it is a personal matter. The district says all questions should directed to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Public Affairs.
Other Incidents Involving ICE and Falsified Employment Records
Des Moines, Iowa, Public Schools has been in the news over the past few weeks following the arrest of Superintendent Ian Andre Roberts. Roberts was placed on unpaid leave after he was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. According to the New York Times, Roberts was paid a base salary of about $286,000 after he filed employment eligibility forms falsely claiming to be an American citizen. Roberts had a social security number and a driver’s license.
Why Was ICE Interested in the Des Moines School Superintendent?
According to ICE, Roberts first entered the U.S. On a student visa in 1999 from Guyana. Although he was ordered deported more than a year ago, Roberts continued in his role as school superintendent. In a post on the ICE website, the agency said, “when ICE officials approached Roberts, he identified himself then sped off, abandoned his vehicle, and hid in a brushy area about 200 meters away, where ICE officers located him with help from Iowa State Patrol officers.” ICE officials say a search of Roberts' vehicle found a loaded handgun, hunting knife and $3,000 cash.
Roberts Lengthy Criminal History
According to the ICE website, Roberts has a long criminal history:
July 3, 1996: Charges for criminal possession of narcotics with intent to sell, criminal possession of narcotics, criminal possession of a forgery instrument and possession of a forged instrument in New York.
Nov. 13, 1998: A charge for third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle in Queens, New York
Nov. 1, 2012: A conviction for reckless driving, unsafe operation and speeding in Maryland.
Feb. 3, 2020: Charges for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon ; third-degree criminal possession of a weapon; and fourth-degree weapon charges.
Jan. 20, 2022: Commonwealth of Pennsylvania convicted Roberts of unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.
Sept. 26, 2025: Roberts was arrested with a Glock 9mm pistol and a fixed-blade hunting knife in his possession. He also had $3,000 in cash.
Oct. 2, 2025: Roberts was criminally charged with being an illegal alien in possession of firearms.
