
How Central Texas Schools Are Fighting Back Against Teacher Misconduct
Educators in the Central Texas area are some of the most important people in the state. But, recent events have caused parents of students to be concerned. The main worry involves both students and teachers.
What Has Central Texas Parents Concerned For Their Child's Safety?
To put it simply, relations between students and teachers that are considered improper have been growing at an abnormal pace. According to KWTX, there have seven cases of illegal actions that have taken place between teachers and students. These situations have occurred over multiple parts of the Central Texas area

Due to this, parents have their worries about sending their child to school with another adult they might not know the best. Doctor Michael Novotny, Salado ISD Superintendent, told KWTX that changes have to begin with teachers listening to the training they get:
“There are multiple trainings that we’re required to provide to all of our employees regarding this, including sexual misconduct between staff and students."

What Else Can Be Done To Help Ease Parents' Minds In Central Texas?
At certain points during the school year, teachers may need to communicate with a student about something regarding school. But, with recent events, some parents might not be ok with that. However, Dr. Novotny, reports changes have been made to be able to monitor communication:
“We have established boundaries that teachers and all employees are required to uphold in terms of communication with students...instead of direct texting and social media with students, we use apps that are group apps”.
