Oklahoma City Thunder to Start Airing Games Locally in Wichita Falls, Texas?
I always considered us a Dallas Mavericks market, but if you're a Thunder fan you will be able to start watching some games here soon.
Oklahoma City Thunder Making Changes to Friday Games
For Thunder fans that have cut the cord. Good news! The team just announced that you will be able to start watching the team locally on Friday nights. The team currently plays on Bally Sports Oklahoma, which is only available in Oklahoma(duh), but also Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and Arkansas. You would have to upgrade your cable package to watch that channel not in those states. Well for some reason, in Wichita Falls, Texas. We can now start watching the Thunder on Friday nights.
Statement from the Oklahoma City Thunder
In addition to the Oklahoma City and Tulsa markets, the Thunder has partnered with several stations in the region to carry these games on outlets owned by Gray Television (Wichita, KS and Lawton, OK/Wichita Falls, TX), and Morgan Murphy Media (Joplin, MO/Pittsburg, KS). Regional markets outside of Oklahoma City and Tulsa are subject to NBA approval, based on league broadcast territory rules.
Here in Wichita Falls, here is how you will now be able to watch the Oklahoma City Thunder locally.

Good News for Thunder Fans
I think this is great, I really think putting your team exclusively on a cable only channel drastically shrinks your audience. I wish these teams did like one of their weekend games at least on one of the local channels. We will see if other teams follow suit, but I like what the Thunder are doing here. However, I will still be a Dallas Mavericks fan. Sorry OKC.
