The Random Times Dallas, Texas Has Been Mentioned on ‘The Simpsons’
Springfield is where 'The Simpsons' live, but it turns out Dallas has been mentioned several times on the show.
Homer Wants to Own the Dallas Cowboys
Back in Season 8 / Episode 2 we learn Homer's dream is to one day own the Dallas Cowboys. His super rich boss Hank Scorpio makes his dream come true...sort of. He gifts him the Denver Broncos...which Homer is not excited about.
Homer Bets Against the Dallas Cowboys
Well we know Homer wants to own the Dallas Cowboys, but it doesn't mean he can't bet against them as well, right? Back on Season 2 / Episode 7 it was a Thanksgiving episode, so perfect time for a Cowboys shout out.
One More Cowboys Shout Out
One of my favorite episodes of The Simpsons. Season 12 / Episode 15 where Homer finds out the local baseball team is moving to Albuquerque. He goes on a hunger strike and the team stays in Springfield. At the end of the episode the mayor of Albuquerque tries to buy the Dallas Cowboys instead.
Fort Worth Takes Some Heat
To people not from Texas, they think Dallas and Fort Worth are just one big city. Don't tell people from Fort Worth that, they get really mad. Dallas gets all the headlines and that is why in Season 16/ Episode 4 this guy makes his job seem less cool just working in Fort Worth.
DFW Marriott Outsourced to India
In Season 17 / Episode 17, Homer's job at the nuclear power plant gets outsourced to India. During the episode, he sees all the American companies that have outsourced there as well. Including the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott.
Dallas Planes Cause a Headache for The Simpsons
In Season 14 / Episode 14, The Simpsons home turns into the direct flight path of the nearby airport. Making their home unsellable and making several members of the family go crazy. Lisa makes a comment about that being a Dallas flight going over their house.
