Texas Store Sells Ticket Worth Millions, May Have Set A Record
A few miles west of Seminole, Texas, on Highway 62, you'll find a Tiger Jiffy Mart convenience store. It sells Exxon gasoline and is a Texas Lottery retailer.
On Thursday, June 13th, someone who purchased a $30 Maximum Millions scratch-off ticket from that store claimed one of the four top prizes of $3 million.
Did This Set a Texas Record?
$3 million is certainly one of the bigger payouts for a Texas Lottery scratch-off game, but definitely not the largest.
Take a close look at the picture below.
When it comes to stores that have sold $1,000,000+ winning Texas Lottery tickets, this one may have set the record for being closest to a bordering state. Take one step to the west of the parking lot and you'll be in New Mexico.
Conceivably, the winner could have purchased the ticket in Texas and then scratched off a few seconds later in New Mexico. That may not be a big deal to you, but my small mind is intrigued by such things.
I doubt the folks at Texas Lottery keep track of such 'records'.
