The NBA Playoffs are underway and while we all are rooting for our favorite teams, a Harker Heights High graduate hopes to help contribute to his teams run for a title.

Utah Jazz rookie forward Royce O'Neale graduated from Harker Heights High School in 2011 and was recruited by the University of Denver where he lead the team in rebounds and was third in scoring before transferring to Baylor in 2013 to be closer to his family in Central Texas according to the Killeen Daily Herald.

O'Neale went undrafted in 2015 and went to play overseas in Germany before returning to the states to play for the Golden State Warriors summer league team in 2016. After not receiving an offer from the Warriors, he continued to play in Spain and Lithuania before making another stateside return this time with the Utah Jazz summer league team in 2017. A contract exception on another player allowed the Jazz to sign him to their roster and he made his NBA debut in October playing a single minute against what would eventually turn out to be the Jazz' playoff opponent the Oklahoma City Thunder.

O'Neale has been a solid contributor as a backup for Rookie Of The Year candidate Donovan Mitchell and O'Neale saw action in Game 1 on Sunday playing only one minute subbing in for Mitchell and picked up 2 rebounds and 2 steals and scoring one point via free throw.

Its clear the hard work is paying off for O'Neale so if you don't have anyone to root for in the playoffs, here's a guy you can get behind!
