It seems as if Walmart is cracking down on selling tobacco to people under the age of 21.

John Scudder the U.S. Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer for Walmart announced yesterday in a press release that beginning July 1st the big box chain is raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco products to 21 years old.

In the release, Walmart stressed an increasing amount of concern for not selling tobacco to minors.

In a letter to the FDA, they not only informed them they are raising the age to buy tobacco at all Walmart and Sam's Club stores, but they are also raising the age to 21 to purchase E-Cigarettes.
