Temple Fire & Rescue units started their day early after a fire broke out at a home early Tuesday morning.

Crews were dispactched to the 2900 block of Indian Trail at 3:10 AM and arrived at 3:16 AM. Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy flames in an attached covered patio at the rear of the house that were spreading to the roof. Smoke was billowing from the attic.

Thankfully, the two adult residents had made out safely and were standing on the front lawn of the property. Neither was injured, and both are staying with family.

Investigators determined that the fire started in the vicinity of the patio and didn't appear to be intentional. The cause of the fire remained undetermined Tuesday evening.

Dollar loss to the home was estimated at $180,000.

Thanks to Temple Fire & Rescue for the continued efforts and diligence in keeping our community safe and saving lives, as well as all our first responders doing the same.
