It's been about a week since Killeen ISD held a public seminar on student safety and how seriously the district takes threats. It looks like someone wasn't able to attend.

According to KISD Police Chief Ralph Disher, a ninth-grader at Ellison High School was arrested on campus after she allegedly made a verbal threat of violence against the school. The 14-year-old was transported to a juvenile detention facility, and faces a charge of making terroristic threats.

Ellison High Principal David Dominguez called the student's parents to inform them of her arrest, then issued a phone message to parents in which he said the district takes all threats seriously and will press charges in these cases.

Dominguez urged parents to talk to their children about the seriousness of threats made against their school, fellow students, and staff, and said there will be student assemblies to review the information that was presented at last week's open meeting.
