Less than 24 hours after an official statement from Jerry Jones stating the Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with Jason Garrett, the team has hired a new head coach.

According to USA Today, former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy agreed to a deal with the organization Monday to be the franchise's next head coach. Details on the Super Bowl-winning coach's contract have yet to be released.

In 12 plus seasons with the Packers, McCarthy had an impressive 125-77-2 record. Making the playoffs nine times, which included two heartbreaking wins over the Dallas Cowboys. Dez caught it.

After being fired from Green Bay during the 2018 season McCarthy interviewed with a handful of teams, but ended up taking the 2019 season off from coaching and worked with a team of former coaches to analyze developments throughout the league while reviewing his own tendencies.

Now of course this does not mean the drama in Dallas will end anytime soon. What coaching staff members will stay on? Which key players will be cut and resigned? Find out next time one Day of Cowboys lives!
