Central Texas Remembers The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin

I've been on air on MyKiss1031 now for a few years and I've been here to deliver the unfortunate news of the passing of 2 musical icons, Prince and now "The Queen Of Soul" Aretha Franklin. Its never easy to push the "On" button to announce that kind of news.

Whether if you got to know them personally or not, the impact these kind of artists left on the world could never be measured in words. The thing is, what makes these folks important is the fact that they created something that in some way shape or form "connected" WITH YOU. Made you feel a little less "alone" in this world. They put your exact thoughts into words and sounds that you couldn't but knew you felt. That's the legacy Aretha Franklin left with us with and an incredible catalog that spans 6 decades of highs & lows, struggle & strength, love and breakup to makeup.

Yesterday, on the day of her passing, we played her classic hits from over the many decades all day long and we received phone calls for requests and memories that you shared on Facebook.
