The COVID-19 pandemic changed our normal routines in so many ways, with people (the considerate ones, anyway) practicing social distancing, masking up, and even reminding full-grown adults to wash their hands once in a while. It also made it difficult to get the things we needed sometimes, not only because of panic buying and supply chain issues, but because stores started limiting their hours.

Remember when Walmart was open 24/7? It seems like forever ago, doesn't it? With all the issues that we had during the pandemic, one of the most frustrating for me is definitely Walmart closing at a certain time and no longer being open 'round the clock. I know I'm not the only Texan wanting to see Walmart to go back to 24 hours. Where else can you get a toothbrush and a flatscreen at 4 o’clock in the morning?

WE NEED THE OLD WALMART BACK!

Now Walmart closes at 10, which is just not right. If you're like me, you enjoy shopping in the wee hours of the morning because there's practically nobody in the building and I can have peace and quite and the aisles all to myself.

MAKE WALMART GREAT AGAIN!

My love of peaceful late night shopping aside, what if someone needs medicine late at night? What if they need a replacement bulb for their blinkers at 2 in the morning, or a tool to help them fix a problem at their house?

Walmart was definitely a go-to place when your child had a fever in the middle of the night. You could rush over to Walmart pick up Tylenol, and be back home quick with relief. Now we have to wait for it to open.

I feel like if the world has decided to open back up and go back to a form of normalcy, Walmart should be able to do it as well. It is inconvenient for all of Texas for them to close at a particular time. If anybody sees Sam Walton, do me a favor, and ask him to please make Walmart great again! (And someone talk to the people running H-E-B, too.)
