One of my favorite things to do in Central Texas is visit the Cameron Park Zoo. However, there’s one complaint I’ve always had, even when I was a small child going there on elementary school field trips. It’s simple: there’s a lot of walking.

Heading to the Zoo? Don't Miss This Major Change to How You Get Around

According to KCENT, the zoo now offers a new Senior Safari Shuttle that allows seniors and guests with limited mobility to explore the zoo with ease. While I’m not old enough to take advantage of the senior benefits just yet, it’s great to know that this option is available for those who need it.

When Is The Shuttle Operating Time?

The free ride is a hop-on, hop-off shuttle that runs Thursdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It makes stops throughout the zoo, helping visitors see as much as they want and enjoy themselves.

Seniors And Guest Will Be Riding In Style

The zoo has stated that the shuttle service is weather- and volunteer-dependent, but it will still operate whenever help is available. If you’ve never been to the Cameron Park Zoo, you may not realize just how beneficial this is. It’s a very large zoo, and walking around in the Central Texas heat, especially in the spring and summer, can be strenuous, particularly for seniors. Now, seniors and guests with limited mobility can experience all the animals with much greater ease—and that’s what it’s all about.
