This year, the Fourth of July in Belton will mark the city's 100th Independence Day Celebration and they are getting ready in a big way!

Belton's 4th of July Parade attracts tens of thousands of spectators and will begin at 10 am on July 4th. This year's Grand Marshal will be Pete Fredenburg, two time National Champion Coach of the UMHB Crusader football team. If your business or group would like to be a part of the parade you have until Friday to turn in your paperwork. Visit rodeobelton.com to take care of that before the deadline.

Following the parade will be the annual Festival on Nolan Creek at Yettie Polk Park which features tons of fun events for the whole family. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeo will also begin on July 4th at the Bell County Expo Center. You can score Rodeo Tickets for $15 (adults) and $12 (kids ages 2-12). The chamber will host a Rodeo kickoff party at Schoepf's Bar-B-Que at 6 pm on July 4th.

New this year will also be the Penelope Street Patriot Fest hosted by the Belton Chamber and Bold Republican Brewing Co on July 6th from Noon to 5 pm. Tickets will be $20 for adults benefiting the National Desert Storm War Memorial in Washington D.C.
