If you need something, just ask a rich celebrity.

That advice usually doesn't work, but it did for Monica Gutierrez of McAllen, Texas.

Monica is the mother of 13-year-old Oswaldo "Ozzy" Briones, who is in his first year on the IDEA Tres Lagos cross-country team, but he didn't have the proper footwear to run in.

Click2Houston reports that one of Ozzy's teammates got hurt from running in his street shoes. Monica wanted to get the whole team running shoes, but the single mom of three just couldn't afford it.

She reached out to someone she knew cared about kids and had a little money to spare: That 70's Show star Ashton Kutcher.

"I've been following him for a long [time] and I know about all the work that he does for the kids and everything, and I thought 'Come on, let's give it a shot,'" she said.

After a couple of auto-replies, a representative of Kutcher asked for the shoe sizes, then just a few days later a box arrived at her doorstep with six pairs of Asics running shoes.

The kids went on to get third in state, and Kutcher won the hearts of all the moms in McAllen even more. Some of the kids didn't even know who he was, though. Show some respect! That's Michael Kelso, the King.
