Our favorite dignitary, Prince Akeem Joffer of Zamunda, is making a comeback after 30 years from his first debut in Coming to America in 1988.

The long-awaited sequel to the classic comedy, Coming 2 America, is set make its debut on Amazon Prime Video in March. Thanks to a new trailer from Amazon, you don't have to wait that long to see new footage from the early anticipated film.

I first saw the new trailer over at ComicBook.com, which gives a synopsis of the new film that's got me cautiously optimistic about seeing it.

Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is preparing to take over as king of Zamunda, but there's a little problem he has to take care of first. Apparently, Akeem has to have a male heir to take over the throne once it's his time to step aside. It turns out Akeem might have a son he was unaware of here in the United States, so he and best friend/servant Semmi (Arsenio Hall) head back to New York to visit old friends and track down this male heir.

The plot seems pretty standard, but hey, so was the first film's. Coming to America was a fairy tale that was elevated by great comedy from Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. The sequel is shaping up to be much the same, and to further complicate matters, it turns out Akeem has a daughter who's more than capable of taking the reigns in Zamunda. Let's see how that plays out! There should be plenty of laughs.

I am huge fan of the original movie and watch it every so often, and you'll hear me quote lines from it a lot. When I first heard about the sequel I was excited it was coming out after all these years, but after the seeing the first trailer I wasn't too impressed.

However, I am still eager to see the new film, especially after watching the latest trailer. I have faith that this sequel will be funny like the original!!

Check out the second trailer to Coming 2 America below, then tell me what you think in the comments. Can the new movie live up to the original? Are you excited about Eddie and Arsenio teaming up again?
