The Jones Brothers both released statements on their social media accounts announcing the death of their father, Alvin Jones, Sr. Sad news broke early yesterday afternoon, Alvin Jones, Sr., father of NFL stars Aaron and Alvin Jones, Jr., passed away at the age of 57.

The news was first announced on Alvin Jr.'s Instagram page as he explained that "heaven gained an angel today." Alvin Jr. went on to write how he was crushed and that a piece of his heart will always be missing.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones also posted to his Instagram page to announce his father's passing saying he and Alvin would protect and take care of their family's queen, their mother Vurgess. He continued on saying this was something he and his brother Alvin had been prepared for by their father for 26 years.

The Jones brothers' parents were always seen at the sidelines for their sons' games at UTEP, cheering them both on. When the brothers went into the NFL, the parents split their time between Baltimore and Green Bay, enthusiastically cheering on both players. Alvin Jones, Jr. signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018, while Aaron was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2017.

Alvin Sr. served almost 30 years in the US Army, according to KTSM News. Alvin Jones Sr. leaves behind his wife Vurgess, daughter Chelsirae, and sons Alvin Jr., Aaron, and Xavier. Our hearts go out to the Jones family during this difficult time.
