A man wanted for live streaming the murder of an elderly man has taken his own life, police reported Tuesday.

Our sister station, KTEM, cites an Associated Press report that Steve Stephens shot himself as police closed in on his vehicle in Erie County, Pennsylvania. At a press conference, a Cleveland Police spokeswoman said police would not be discussing tactics used in the pursuit of Stephens at this time.

Stephens was wanted on an aggravated murder charge after reportedly shooting a 74-year-old man in Cleveland Sunday. The murder was streamed live via Facebook, and has made the rounds on the internet despite law enforcement asking that it not be shared out of respect for the deceased and his family.
