Why do we need the lastest ?

I have to admit i have never been one who had to have the first of anything, it's just not that important to me. so when it comes to phones i don't  have to have the  new I phone 5 or  the new Samsung  Galaxy smart  phone,my current smart phone does everything  i need it to and that's OK with me.Now i get it some people like to stay up with the new and latest tech inventions and it's quite possible maybe i am missing out on something new and exciting, but i'll just take that chance and keep that extra $300.00,$400.00 or more in my pocket or maybe i'll take a trip somewhere and call you from my year old smart phone, I'm just saying !
