My sister Marta Rivera, is the rock of the family. She has always taken care of everyone except herself. She gives and gives and helps and more help. We lost our mother and sister. I don't know how she did it but she paid for two funerals. I know she even gave up her funeral plot and everything. I had no home and she let me take over our mother's house. She gave me my sister's used car. She gave me her granddaughter's car for college. She feeds us all for the holidays. She helps in the community. She volunteers at elementary schools and local organizations. She is raising her great niece age 9 because she loves her and doesn't want her in the foster care system. Marta retired with 20 years in the military. She is a disabled veteran that has let family stay with her without charging for rent. She just gives and gives. We know she is going through financial hardship. But she would rather keep it to herself and not worry us. We love her and we are so proud of her. I have tears in my eyes as I write this. Please give her anything you can. A simple smile means the world to her. Marta is positive and loves listening to 103.1 KISS FM. She loves old school music. She was raised right here in Killeen. She is the best! Her son's car broke down and she helped him with transportation. She has helped everyone that has come in her path. She will even put the trash out for her neighbors next door. Both the ladies that live next to her are under a doctor's care and it's hard for them sometimes. Marta even feeds the stray cats in the neighborhood.
