Social media can do more harm than good.  Sometimes social media is not as "social" as we would like for it to be.  It's definitely a great place to connect with friends and make new ones, share ideas, opportunities, and the like, but there are times when your posts can be taken out of context.  What you mean to say is not necessarily conveyed in the text that you write.
For example, have you ever replied to a post with the intention of humor, and the other person took it completely out of context?  That turns into an exchange that sometimes doesn't end on a friendly note.
My advice...Some people appear warm, friendly, and receptive when they receive replies to their posts, and some take it very personal.  You just have to know which personality you're dealing with when you respond and you won't end up with a, "what had happend was" situation.
