Rapper Wale's new album is called 'The Gifted,' and like the title, the DMV rhymer presented a Hampton University with a huge financial "gift."

Lauren Pryor, a second year Psychology student, won the Wale "The Gifted" Scholarship after being the 25th caller and winner on Norfolk, Va. hip-hop station 103 JAMZ.

"I was on my way to a friend's home in Hampton," recalls Pryor on winning the scholarship (via Hampton University News). "I called four or five times. The line was always busy. On about the 14th call I told myself to give it a rest. I was taking the phone from my face and had my thumb on the 'end' button when I heard a man say, 'hello.' I didn't believe it. He told me there were millions of calls and he only picked up the phone 14 times nationwide."

Along with the scholarship, Pryor spent a fun-filled two days last June in New York. Wale also presented the college student with the scholarship at his album release party and concert for his latest album, 'The Gifted.'

"Winning this scholarship was truly a blessing," she said. "Almost not returning to Hampton University in the fall because of expenses, I was exceedingly fortunate to receive this scholarship. It was truly a test of faith."

Props to Wale for awarding a college student a $25,000 scholarship. It's a helluva gift.
