A BOIL WATER NOTICE is issued immediately for all properties in Killeen's Prairie View Estates and all properties located on the north side of Chaparral Road between Featherline Road and Prairie View Estates.

According to a press release from the city of Killeen, as of 6 pm Sunday (June 22)  night, crews are on site repairing a water main break. Water service is currently unavailable, and crews will continue working until service is restored.

Once the repair is complete, lines will be flushed and water samples will be tested.

Residents in the affected locations are cautioned to BOIL ALL WATER BEFORE CONSUMING beginning immediately.  Residents will be notified when the boil water notice is lifted.

Residents may call the Water and Sewer Services help line at 501-6319 with questions or concerns.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.  The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.  In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.  When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you.
