Let's take you back to 1981. Saturday Night Live was on the verge of becoming a cultural phenomenon but it was still trying to find its way. The legendary Eddie Murphy was the one of two survivors of a mass cast firing a year before and he was becoming a superstar, while another up and coming superstar would make his first appearance on the show: Prince

Prince made his first appearance on SNL on February 21, 1981. Then 22-years old, the future ICON gave an energetic performance of his song "Partyup" from his album "Dirty Mind". Rolling Stone called it one the "25 Greatest Musical Performances" in the show's history. If you want to find video of this performance, good luck. NBC took the video down of his performance in 2016 but if you scour the net long enough, you'll find it for sure!

Speaking of Eddie, remember "Mister Robinson's Neighborhood"? Have a laugh at one of Eddie's more classic sketches!
