This is why we can't have nice things.

KCEN-TV reports that two packages were stolen from a home on Levy Lane in Killeen Tuesday, and the suspect was caught on camera.

The packages arrived at Sheryl Remick's home at 1:33 PM Tuesday. 16 minutes later, a white woman with long, bleached hair and dark rimmed glasses walked up to the front door and knocked. Not a second later, she pulled a rag from her pocket, then leaned over and picked up the packages. Then she just casually strolled away with them.

Sadly, KCEN reports that this isn't the first time Remick has had Amazon packages nabbed from her porch. This time, she was able to catch the thief on video because she installed a security camera after the first incident back in November.

"Just the nerve of people doing this to people who work hard and can't sit at home all day to wait for their packages," Remick told KCEN. "This just made me so mad because it's not the first time."

Hopefully someone out there will recognize this lady and turn her in. It's bad enough stealing in the first place, but stealing from a retired woman? C'mon.

If you think you know the suspect or have any information that might be helpful, please contact Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477 or visit their website at bellcountycrimestoppers.com. Information leading to an arrest could net a cash reward of up to $1,000, and you don't have to share your name with Crime Stoppers.

FYI, there's a service called Amazon Locker that allows you to have your packages shipped to secure lockers outside of local businesses. Amazon will alert you via email or their app when your package arrives, and will send you a short numeric code. You simply input that code at the locker kiosk and a door containing your package opens.

If you don't want to rent a post office box or have your packages delivered to your workplace, but worry about packages being stolen from your porch, Amazon Lockers are a great alternative. I've used the one on West Adams in Temple a few times and have never had an issue.
