‘The Voice’ Top 5
On last night's episode of 'The Voice,' the top 5 were revealed, last season's winner returned with a lackluster performance and there were lots of duets throughout the show.
The night kicked off with the return of Cassadee Pope, last season’s winner and a Team Blake alumn, to debut her new single, ‘Wasting All These Tears.’ Although it was a country song, her vocals and lyrics were very poppy, similar to Avril Lavigne. And the performance was not that impressive for someone who won the entire competition not that long ago.
To begin the evening of endless duets, Michelle Chamuel and Sasha Allen brought viewers back to the '80s with their cover of Madonna’s ‘Open Your Heart.’ The two sashayed around the stage with choreographed “walking.” This track would be the first and the last groovy pop song of the night. As a result, Michelle Chamuel earned a safety net and moved to the semifinals.
Sasha Allen and Danielle Bradbery were both saved and went on to the next round. The Swon Brothers and Holly Tucker got together to sing ‘Leave the Pieces’ by the Wreckers and Danielle teamed up with Amber Carrington for ‘Eternal Flame.’
Right before announcing the next two contestants who were saved, the camera panned to Adam Levine. It's apparent he’s completely over the show now that Judith Hill was gone but he definitely faked how relieved he was when his only teammate, Amber Carrington, was saved.
The last votes were between the Swon Brothers and Holly Tucker for the last spot on the show -- all on Blake Shelton’s team. America picked the Swon Brothers and left Holly Tucker in tears as she was sent home packing.
