The Black Panther movie premiere was last night (Jan. 29), and not only was the cast absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet, along with celebrity attendees like Issa Rae and Sterling K. Brown, but early reactions are beginning to trickle in as well.

While no spoilers were given (thankfully), if the tweets that came through last night after the embargo lifted are any indication, the hype this film as evoked might be deserved.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed) and starring Chadwick Boseman (42) as King T'Challa aka Black Panther, as well as Coogler's apparent acting muse, Michael B. Jordan, as the villain Erik Killmonger, as well as Lupita Nyong'o and Angela Bassett, the film is star-packed. And according to the early responses that popped up online from folks who were able to attend the premiere, it's ambitious, bold and beautifully shot.

"Black Panther was beautiful," Donald Glover wrote.

"Black Panther looks, feels and sounds unlike any Marvel film to date. A visual feast. Wakanda is amazingly realized, the antagonist actually has an arc with emotional motivations. Marvels most political movie. So good," wrote Sciretta of Slash Films.

" is exceptional - the James Bond of the MCU. You've seen nothing like this in a superhero movie - it's bold, beautiful & intense, but there's a depth & spiritualness that is unlike anything Marvel has ever done. It's 100% African & it is dope af," wrote another viewer.
