A prank that has been circulating around social media are causing Texas authorities concern and they are warning Iphone users about its deadly consequences.

According to our news partner KWTX, when an iphone user says "Hey Siri 108", the users iphone will redirect the command and dial 911 within five seconds. The prank could cause 911 emergency service lines to be tied up which in an emergency could be the difference between life and death.

"We would like to remind the public to call 9-1-1 only for emergencies requiring immediate police, fire, or medical assistance. Fraudulent and prank calls to 9-1-1 are against the law and violators may be prosecuted. Also, non-emergency calls to 9-1-1 to verify it is working and other general inquires can tie up valuable resources." -McLennan County 911 Executive Director Jesse Harrison via KWTX

"108" is the emergency service number used in India, and the iPhone recognizes emergency numbers from around the world so asking Siri to call that number will cause it to dial the emergency number of its nearest location.
