The Temple Police Department announced Tuesday afternoon that investigators in the disappearance of Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin have found two bodies in rural Oklahoma that may be connected to the case.

Police stopped short of saying the remains were those of Scott and Swearingin, and they're awaiting the findings of an autopsy to be performed by medical examiners in Oklahoma.

Authorities with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reportedly found the bodies on property in Okfusee County, OK while searching the area at the request of Temple police. A homicide investigation is now underway in that county, and the Texas Rangers are assisting.

Temple PD spokeswoman Ellen Morton said the department could not release further information, as they are concerned with protecting the integrity of the investigation.

Scott and Swearingin have been missing since around 3 AM Friday, January 4. Many Central Texans have participated in search parties hoping to help find the two.
